#1 - Make sure we know how to put it up ourselves. We got a new 9 person tent (we had a 2 man tent prior to this one), and figured we should probably try putting it together before we actually get to our campsite.
#2 - Let the boys play around with it and get used to it. Two people I know have mentioned that when they took their 1 year old camping, they freaked out a bit in the tent...mainly when sleeping. We are not going to necessarily camp in our backyard for a night to get them that used to it, but we thought if they could play around in it a little, it might familiarize them with it when we actually go.
And of course our pictures:
And everywhere they went in the tent, they had their fork in hand! |
Logan too! Not gonna let that fork go. |
Trying to figure out why he can't look out the windows like he can in the house. |
And then Ellis discovered the door. |
And successfully climbed out. |
Note to self: Make sure the door is zippered, not just velcro'd if we want to keep the boys in the tent. |
And then back in (with fork still in hand!) |
He loved this new game. |
So Logan tried. |
So far so good. I think we'll put it up again next weekend for another try at it (although they seemed to be okay with it so far) |
Yup, we're ready for camping! |
