And for his next trick...

Last week we found that Logan did a complete 180 in his crib while swaddled, during the night. Well, I think he has now paid Ellis off to sleep longer in order to practice his next trick...
Not only did he do another 180 (his head is usually on the blue burp rag in case of spit-ups), but he also successfully got his LEG out of his swaddle. That's impressive! He's quite good at getting his arm out, which he also did, but his leg?!?! Wow Logan! And again, despite him being awake when I took this picture, he wasn't the one that woke me up this morning. He seemed quite content when I found him this way. I wonder what he has up his sleeve next!

I survived!

Today was my first day back to work. Yeah, seems a little silly to go back for only one week -- and the last week of school at that -- but I thought it would be a good little taste of what to expect next year. Troy was able to take the week off to be with the boys, so that definitely helped...heck, I probably wouldn't have gone back at all if we had to find daycare, but it also helped to know that I only have to do it for a week. I am sure its not going to be this easy in the fall...

When I got home, I was promptly greeted by Ellis for a hug. Then Logan wanted some mommy time too! It was such a nice day that we just had to go for a walk before dinner. Daddy told me that this morning, he read a new book to them that we got from the library last week, called "Trucks Roll" and that they really liked it so I read that to them again tonight. He even told me the sound effects I had to add, just like he did, but I have a feeling he did it much better. Looks like he enjoyed his day at home with them!

Going a few days back, this weekend we stayed pretty busy. On Saturday after a morning hair cut, we thought we'd head out to Livonia for the day to see Val and Derek. We just hung out and chatted for most of the afternoon and had Noodles for dinner. Then on Sunday, Nicole, my mom and I decided to get together to scrapbook and my plans were to start the scrapbooks my mom made for me. We should know better by now, but we really need an entire weekend devoted to scrapbooking in order to really get much done. With all the talking we do (or maybe its just me??), we don't get a ton done, but its still fun hanging out. Let's just say I'm only on the 5th day of the month-long scrapbook for Logan and haven't even started Ellis's book yet. There is plenty of time to get them done (but lets hope they are done before they are 1) and its definitely one of those projects that I can work on here and there without feeling overwhelmed with it.

Here's to a quick and easy week at work and hopefully some nice weather!

Boys and their toys

To celebrate their entry into the double digits (10 weeks today!), the boys got some new toys. They are getting to the point where they can hold their head up better,so we got a bumbo chair. Right now, we put a big pillow behind it so their head doesn't wobble back too much, but so far they seem to like it!
The next toy we got was an activity mat for tummy time. There is a little wedge that goes under their chest and then there are toys in front of it that are attached to the mat that they can play with. There was also a little mirror that goes with it that could be placed in front of them.
By the way, its been 10 weeks now. Now that we don't have Logan's hair in a mohawk, can you still figure out who is who? Happy 10 weeks cutie pies!!

A Complete 180

Last night, this is how we put Logan in his crib after his 10pm bottle...
And this is how I found him at 4:30am...
Yes, he did a complete 180 throughout the night (the sleep sheep is hanging on the front of the crib), and forget sleeping on his back, he was comfy laying on his side. Strangely enough, when I woke up at 4:30, it was from Ellis crying, not Logan. The big move during the night must have exhausted him! Now you can tell why I'm going to be nervous when we can't swaddle them anymore. If he did this while being swaddled, what will he do without being swaddled??

Our fun weekend

We've had a very fun, busy weekend. On Saturday we went to the Reaves house to celebrate Morgan and Parker's birthday. Morgan turned 3 yesterday and Parker is turning 1 tomorrow. I think its funny how Nicole had her babies within a week of my birthday and I had mine within a week of her birthday! It was a great celebration and they got lots of fun gifts that I'm sure they will enjoy for a long time!

Yesterday, Grandma and Grandpa Bush came to visit. Grandma made the most adorable "Cat in the Hat" blankets for the boys and even personalized it with their name (in the bottom right square). So cute!
The guys spent most of their day installing french drains (gotta keep Grandpa Bush busy from what I've been told!), while us girls stayed inside and played with the boys. Uncle Sky even came over for dinner to catch up with everyone! Although their visit was short, we look forward to seeing them again next month.
Today was just a day to chill. Troy didn't work, but will be working for the rest of the week and I just realized that one week from today I will be back to work... boo!!! Well, I don't have to go back for the last week of school but thought it might be a good idea to get used to the idea of leaving the boys for an extended period of time since I will have to do that in the fall. Luckily Troy is taking next week off to watch the boys (instead of worrying about day care for a week) and Grandma Frahm will be with the boys for any of the days in the following week that I have to go to work to wrap up the end of the year. Although I think it will be a good way to ease into it, with being an easy week at school (its the last week for students) and knowing the boys will be home with dad, I'm still not looking forward to it! =( For now, I will just enjoy my time with them during the week and also look forward to spending time with my mom and sister next Sunday for a day of scrapbooking. I am definitely looking forward to starting my scrapbooks for the boys that I got from my mom about a month ago!

2 month stats

Ellis weighed in at 10lbs 6oz and measured 21.5 inches long.

Logan weighed a whopping 10lbs 12oz and measured 22 1/4 inches long.

Both boys received a clean bill of health after today's appointment -- we don't have to return until 4 months. Unfortunately, they had to get 4 of their immunizations today (3 in shot form and 1 orally). They did NOT like that at all, but who can blame them?!? Luckily I packed a bottle for each of them and we stayed in the room and fed them before we left. They have calmed down quite a bit and are now sleeping soundly. After lunch, Grandma Frahm and I are going to take a trip to the Rochester Hills Library. They have a summer reading program for kids of all age groups, birth to age 12, that I want to sign the boys up for. The program for babies born this year includes getting a new board book every month, and if you sign up today or tomorrow, you get an additional book for free. We are SO there! =)

Our sleepy heads

Last night we had a little surprise. Our little boys slept 7 hours straight!! I woke up around 4am (about the usual time they have been waking up lately) and felt the need to pump, so I got my pump supplies and brought bottles up to their room, assuming that they'd wake up sometime while I was up there. Much to my surprise, I was done pumping and was able to go back to bed for a half an hour, before waking up to them crying at 5am! Maybe a last minute birthday gift for me, but hey, I will take what I can get! We'll see if this happens more or if it was just luck (and pray that my boobs let me sleep a little longer next time too!) =)
