10 months

10 months!  10 MONTHS??!?!

This month, they've been active little boys, thats for sure.  Here's what's new from January:

  • Ellis has gotten four more teeth this month (7 total) and Logan has two more teeth (6 total).
  • They have definitely increased their food intake.  They are much more receptive to finger foods now.  Although they've had a majority of these foods before, they are now eating these foods as finger foods: sweet potato cubes, shredded chicken, homemade chicken nuggets, applesauce/banana muffins, black beans, cantaloupe, peaches, pears, jelly sandwich (which they LOVE), peas and carrots, and broccoli cheddar bites.  They also enjoy graham crackers and club crackers for a snack, in addition to the Cheerios they've been gobbling up lately.
  • As I mentioned before, they've been doing much better with a sippy cup, and Ellis will drink a TON of water when given the chance.  Logan is a little more hesitant with it, but will actually pick up the cup and drink it on his own versus us having to hold it for him.
  • Ellis is playing peek-a-boo now.  And what is so funny is seeing the opposite boy laugh when his brother plays peek-a-boo.  In other playing news, Troy and I have been crawling around pretending to chase them, followed by a tickling session, and they just think that is the funniest thing.   Now they are starting to chase each other around.

  • In other playing news, Troy and I have been crawling around pretending to chase them, followed by a tickling session, and they just think that is the funniest thing.   Now they are starting to chase each other around.  Logan likes to put his play silk on his head, so one day, Troy tied it on his head.  Troy said it looked like he was a pirate - I was thinking that it looked more like he had a do-rag on!

  • They are also very much into books.  We have some board books in their play area and sometimes they will just sit there and flip through the book over and over.  It is so cute.
  • Logan has started saying "mama" more frequently.  It was so cute this past weekend when we were in the car and Logan said "mama?" so perfectly, like he wanted to ask me a question.  Ellis is all about "dada" still but has said "nana" too.
  • They are both pulling themselves up on anything they can, including the wall.  They don't even need a grip on whatever it is they are holding on to and they are very careful when going to sit back down.  Like they almost do it in slow motion.

  • With pulling themselves up, they are also starting to cruise along the furniture.  Seriously, it seems like they just learned how to crawl and now they are practically on their way to walking!
  • Ellis likes to "play" quite a bit at grandmas after his nap.  She was telling me how she closes the door to their bedroom during their nap time, but not so the door was latched closed.  Well, one day she heard someone awake.  All of a sudden, it sounded like he was louder - not screaming, but like he was closer to her.  Come to find out, Ellis, whose crib is closest to the door, reached out of his crib and pulled the door open a little bit.  When she went to go get him, she didn't even have to peak in the door to see who it was, he was in full view since he opened the door.  So clever he is!

And we'll end with some other random pictures from this month

It seems like before we know it, they will be 1.  I better start planning their birthday party!

Speaking of "birth" days, Ellis and Logan are excitedly waiting for their friend Delevan to arrive.  My guess is that sooner rather than later this week, he will be here.  A HUGE good luck to Val and Derek!  We are so excited for you both and we can't wait to meet the little guy.

Nothing slowing them down. They'll be walking before we know it.

What an exciting time! I love that they are playing and chasing each other, haha! And Logan's do-rag is hilarious. I need to see if Parker will let me do that to him. XO, miss you all!
